Sausal Creek Restoration Project: Jackson Family Farms
In 2003, working with the Sotoyome Resource Conservation District, an invasive, non-native plant removal and native plant revegetation project was carried out on Sausal Creek on a vineyard property of Jackson Family Farms, a Fish Friendly Farming certified site. Giant reed, Himalayan blackberry, and blue periwinkle were removed from about one half-mile of Sausal Creek, and replaced with native plants such as spicebush, toyon, California wild rose, snowberry, California buckeye, Oregon ash, coast live oak, Fremont cottonwood, willow, and California bay laurel.
